Armenian Church and Armed Forces of Republic of Armenia

The Spiritual service of Armed Forces was established in November of 1997 with an aim to offer spiritual services at the Army. Different clergy of AAC, deacons, priests, archimandrites, are involved in this work but due to the restricted number of clergy, they don’t cope with the task with proper efficiency. Emergency Aid Preparedness

Three cycles of trainings for NGO representatives and clergy were conducted at Crisis Management Academy (CMA) in Yerevan in December, 2007, then in May and June of 2008. In total 30 people participated in 98 hours of theoretical and 44 hours of practical trainings, 8 hours of field visits were conducted as well. The topics covered related to crisis management issues, classification of emergencies, protection of the civilian population, organization of civic protection, emergency situations typical for Armenia, environmental protection issues, fire protection, terrorism as an emergency and hostage behavioural patterns, provision of networking between the state and non-governmental institutions and the role of Church, Mass Media and Emergencies, etc. [learn more]
